Tsumura Group Efforts

Meeting Our Environmental Targets | Sustainability

As a company that strongly relies on nature for the procurement of crude products, we remain extremely sensitive to changes in the natural environment. We have a set of targets in return for the protection of the natural environment and mitigation of climate change. One of our targets is a 50% reduction of greenhouse gas emissions by FY 2030 compared to FY 2020, and recently, we have successfully reduced 160 tons of greenhouse gas emissions per year with the introduction of solar energy in our production plants. In response to the conservation of wildlife and biodiversity, we are shifting from foraging to field cultivation of ginseng used in TU-100. We will continue making every effort until we have established a low-carbon, recycle-oriented society.

Digital Revolution Changing Our Workplace For The Better

With “Tradition and Innovation” as our guiding principle, we have built our tradition for more than 100 years through continuous innovation. One innovation we have implemented in recent years is artificial intelligence (AI) and robotic process automation that we use in manufacturing and marketing. We believe designing the right digital transformation strategy not only helps us to transition to sustainable operations in our production line but also benefits our customers.

A Future For Children in Laos Through Kampo Medicine Cultivation

To create an environment where all children can receive a quality education and prevent child labor, LAO TSUMURA donates scholarships, uniforms, and other essentials for school education in Laos. To also stabilize the income of people living in poverty and increase local employment opportunities, we have initiated a project to cultivate one of our crude products Saiko, together with the Laong Ngam district government. Through crude product cultivation, we aim to create a better future for children, and we will continue to bring positive changes to the world with our Kampo.
